This is the most popular hand percussion drum in the world. Originating in Mali, Djembe literally means ‘everyone gathering together’. This is the traveling drum. Easy to pack with you where ever you go. Found is all drum circles and most recently as part of the conga players drum kit. Heard in all kinds of music world wide.
Being an African instrument, Volcano Djembe’s are made of African Mahogany also being a fine tone wood. Our hardware is all hand crafted Stainless Steel buffed to a mirror finish. We use maximum amount of staves to assure excellent cylindrical sound. The staves are held together by a modern form of dowelling. Each djembe has a rubber ring on the bottom to protect the drum. The finish is available in hand rubbed gloss or satin.
